If you are experiencing chronic cystic conditions of the eyelid such as DRY EYE or MGD (Meibomian Gland Dysfunction), Dr. Putnoi and his team will conduct a series of diagnostic tests and evaluations to assess your symptoms. If your results show moderate to severe symptoms, we will take a series of highly detailed images of your tear film with the LipiView® interferometer. This non-invasive process will take just a few minutes. A special light will be directed onto the front surface of your eye to give Dr. Putnoi a closer look at your tear film.
If the diagnostic testing uncovers your need for dry eye treatment, our LipiFlow® Thermal Pulsation technology will help manage your symptoms. During the procedure, sterile single use devices will safely and comfortably deliver a combination of heat to the inner lids and simultaneous therapeutic motion to the outer lids, relieving the blockage of the meibomian glands. This treatment will last about twelve minutes. LipiFlow® is the only dry eye treatment available that addresses the syndrome at its source. Other treatments provide temporary relief, but LipiFlow® can provide long-lasting results – improving your vision, ocular comfort, and your quality of life.
